Capstone Digital Team
The Capstone Digital team is comprised of 40 experienced education professionals that create, develop, market and implement digital solutions to districts across the country. Led by Todd Brekhus, President of Capstone Digital, the digital division will continue to expand solutions in the education market to incorporate technology, integrate updated research and encompass new state and national requirements. Mr. Brekhus’ prior experiences launching products and services into the education market, as well as his thorough understanding of technology, provide the foundation for the future growth of Capstone Digital.
Our goal is to instill the love of reading in all students and help build confident readers!
Todd Brekhus, President
Brekhus leads the digital product vision and strategy at Capstone Digital. Prior to joining Capstone, he served as the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at PLATO Learning, President and Chief Operating Officer of Learning Elements, and Education Program Director for MCI WorldCom, where he helped to build and implement the Marco Polo program. Brekhus spent eight years in education as a teacher, department chair and technology director.
Randi Economou, Vice President of Sales, West
Economou is responsible for the sales and distribution of Capstone Digital products in the western region. Prior to joining Capstone she served in several executive leadership positions at leading education technology companies. Economou spent four years in education as a high school language arts and leadership teacher.
Gail Lewis, Senior Product Manager
Lewis is responsible for identifying and defining product strategies. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with diverse standard groups, such as MARC and the U.S. Department of Education Technical Working Group for the Learning Registry. Prior to joining Capstone, Lewis worked with Nichols Advanced Technologies and Sagebrush, where she tested, developed and expanded library products like Athena, Winnebago Spectrum and InfoCentre.
Mike Palmquist, Director of Development
Palmquist leads the Capstone Digital development team in delivering interactive content to meet customer demands. Prior to joining Capstone, he was a partner at Portage Interactive, developer of TeamTreks, GradePad, Portazo, and more. Palmquist also worked as a designer and producer at MECC/The Learning Company.
Haygood Poundstone, Vice President of Sales, East
Poundstone is responsible for the sales and distribution of Capstone Digital products. Prior to joining Capstone Digital, he served as the Partnership Director at Lightspan when Plato Learning acquired the company and transitioned to Account Manager and later to the Regional Vice President of Sales. Poundstone gained a wealth of experience in the education market as a lobbyist for 15 school boards in Alabama.
Lynn Walker, Marketing Manager
With more than 15 years of marketing experience, Walker began her career at NCS in sales and transferred into marketing when Pearson acquired NCS. Prior to joining Capstone Digital, she was responsible for the launch and marketing of assessment products and services in K-12 and higher education markets at Pearson.
