myON reader aligns with many local, state and federal initiatives and meets requirements of many funding sources that schools can leverage to improve the educational experience for all students.

Striving Readers Comprehensive Grant
The Department of Education (DOE) has awarded six states the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grant including: Georgia, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Texas. These states will be awarded funds to help focus and assist school districts across the county to advance literacy skills.
According to the DOE, the Striving Reader Comprehensive Literacy Grant will be allocated to provide funding for professional development, screening and assessment and interventions for students that are not reading at grade level.
“Supporting children's reading skills can help students build a lifelong love of learning,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. “These grants will increase access to strong literacy instruction through innovative approaches by providing states and districts the flexibility they need to identify the literacy programs best suited to meet their student’s needs.”
myON reader meets requirements for Striving Readers Comprehensive Grant
Capstone Digital’s myON reader matches students’ interests and reading levels to a recommended book list with more than 1,700 enhanced digital books. It also provides:
- Anytime, anywhere access online, at home or at school as a virtual backpack for students in grades preK-8
- Embedded assessment that include end of book quizzes and benchmark tests to measure and forecast reading growth by student, group, grade and district
- Development of personalized reading programs, grouping of students, recommended book lists based on curriculum and/or state standards.
